In Italy, pickleball is something new. The first court was built in 2017. In 2020, there were less than 10 courts in the entire country. But as of 2024, the sport is picking up quickly, and there are about 120 pickleball clubs now, some with just one court, some with up to 6 courts. You can check out our location list with contacts and addresses.
Pickleball small tournaments and open days regularly take place in most clubs – see our news section (in Italian) for details. The major tournaments are in Tocco da Casauria and Rome and they are listed on pickleball.global.
It might be difficult to find pickleball communities offering open playing to walk in players. But that option might become more popular in the next months, mostly with whatsapp groups. You can contact us or the clubs to see what’s going on near you.
